We really wanted to like this restaurant but the bulk of the food was just uninspired. The chicken wing appetizer was not dunked in the sauce, but fried wings with sauce on the side. The wings without sauce were completely unseasoned. The spinach dip was velveeta and not appetizing. Shrimp and lobster pasta was in a lack luster tomato cream sauce, ribs were fall apart soft but flavorless. I'm afraid this is just an average hotel restaurant.

One of the two finest restaurants in Port Saint Lucie. Clubby yet casual atmosphere. Great steakhouse with active bar scene. Fresh salad wedges, warm baskets of dinner rolls, great steaks, crab cakes, burgers! Happy hour includes all wines on well chosen list. Evening Bartenders are only so so except for when Mr. Chicago is on duty, but waitstaff is excellent. Always a friendly greeting from Kimberly at reception.

A group of friends and myself made a reservation via phone well in advance to dine here. Upon arriving, we were rudely told that our party never called to make a reservation - a blatant lie. The most ridiculous part of this is that it happened to FIVE other parties (all with reservations) that came in after us, something that I have never seen happen before. Four of those parties left for other eateries while the fifth waited in excess of 45 minutes past the priority arranged reservation time. Our party waited an extra hour - an hour of our lives that we will never get back. After dining on the sub-par (pun intended) and overpriced entrees, I can safely say that I will not be returning to this establishment. I certainly hope that this apathetic service is not a reflection of Sam Snead's character. If you happen to be in Port St. Lucie looking for a quality dinner, there is an abundance of establishments with more reasonable prices, higher quality food, and more interested staffs. I would suggest Pueblo Viejo...and if you can't get a reservation, Wendy's is just down the road and won't screw you out of your reservation. Plus they have frosty's. On the plus side, the crowded waiting area was kind of interesting. But only for like 4 of the 60 minutes we waited for.

I have eaten here 6 times and really enjoy the food. My favorite is the cob salad or blackened chicken pasta. The service is a little slow. The prices are reasonable. I believe the cob salad was around $14. I will definitely be back.

So here's the dealeo....we had a Easter reservation about 30 minutes away and decided to cancel and give Sam Sneads a try so we could save the car ride. The reviews on yelp weren't great, but I definitely noticed that none were recent and I was hoping that it was decent. We ordered a crispy shrimp app, caesar salads and prime rib dinner. The salads came before the Shrimp....then the shrimp came 2 seconds later. I have posted a photo of the salads(they look nothing alike) the shrimp weren't "Crispy" and to top it off the croutons were stale and we got a bent fork.... The prime rib came, it was not warm, the green beans were grossly overlooked or perhaps canned.....they certainly had that look. We ate what we could, had a couple drinks and laughed it off. I don't recommend anyone go here.....and 84+tip is insulting for quality and atmosphere like this. I'm in room 348 at the hotel if anyone would like more info.

Friendly staff. Delicious food. Fun happy hour. Welcoming atmosphere, even for those "Road Warriors" who are forced to eat alone! I would highly recommend Sam Sneads to anyone staying at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel (where the restaurant is located).

If you care enough about quality to read reviews before hand then Probably not. I feel like this place with its $30 plates is a pretentious money vacuum. yes the service is ok, but that's not a total package.

Decent but uninspiring menu that does not justify the price. The prices are not over the top but too much for the quality offered. Service was needlessly slow. Took way too long - 10 minutes to get drink order taken. Overall our 3 course meal took over 2 hours in a 3/4 full restaurant.

Worst service and meal !! For the cost of this restaurant you would think the service would be better especially because the place was empty! The food was terrible very disappointed in this place will not go back or recommend

Should be a 1.5 rating ... Wasn't deplorable, but not sure it's quite a 2 star either. Being close to the ocean was really hoping for good seafood. Thought with it being part of the golf course there would be a decent menu. Was really disappointed. Margarita flat bread was bland, but cost nearly $12 (something comparable would be $5 else where). Clam chowder was like progresso from a can. By "fish tacos" they meant fried frozen fish sticks wrapped in white tortillas. Gross. And it took 25 minutes to prepare two entrees (we were the only people in the place). Won't be back. Ever. And, not kid friendly (high chair yes, but no kid menus, cups/straws, and no changing station in the restroom).

We are "regulars" and enjoy our evenings sitting at the bar and enjoying the delicious meais. However, tonight ..what was to be our New Years Celebration, we had to leave after one glass of wine...it was FREEZING.....we asked for the A/c to be turned down, but it was only comfortable until the A/C went on again. We were not the only guests complaining. We left without ordering dinner! So disappointed.

I eat here whenever I am in town for work. I went for about the fourth time tonight for dinner with a co-worker. I always have a great meal here. I've had their filet the past three times here...I got the 5oz. each time with a jumbo lump crab cake. DELICIOUS. It comes with basil red skin mashed potatoes which are excellent as well. My steak is always cooked to perfection. The entree is about 28 bucks and worth it. Tonight I did something I usually never do..I ordered chicken. However, this was no ordinary piece of chicken. This was their Alpine Chicken- with spinach, wild mushrooms, Swiss cheese and a side of yellow rice. It was around $18. I cleaned my plate. My co-worker had the 7oz. filet which she said was very good. She couldn't finish it because we had ordered the Spicy Shrimp appetizer. I usually do not eat anything breaded or fried (the shrimp were both) but they were really good as well. Since I was with my co-worker, we sat at a table but I always sit at the bar to eat. There is a bartender here who is AWESOME. I wish I could remember his name...he has been there each time I have been, and is always striking up a conversation with whoever is at his bar. He made me the creamiest, yummiest, espresso martini which I should have had tonight. I opted for a dirty martini since they have blue cheese stuffed olives here. I will definitely be returning as soon as I am back in town.

We have eaten here 3 times and just getting around to writing this. I have gotten the same item each time, the Carolina shrimps and the steak. Each time the meals were fantastic albeit a little pricey The service is always top notch. In March the NY Mets stay here at the hotel the restaurant is located in. So if you know any of them by face you should be able to see on or two around.

Can't believe some of the low ratings. Excellent atmosphere, great food, efficient & friendly service and I would stay at the adjoining hotel. We had dinner and lunch and had zero problems. I would eat here again ~ great job!

From the wide dispersion of the prior reviews, it looks like this is a "love it or hate it" place. We went with friends who recommended it. We wanted a quiet place for lunch, where we could talk. It met that criterion. Nice booth, and pleasant service, and nearly empty restaurant (it was after 1 pm). Three of us ordered the pasta with shrimps and lobster in a cream sauce, because it sounded so good. And, indeed, it came quickly and tasted delicious. The only oddity at the time was that it was lukewarm - not a good thing for a seafood melange - it seemed it might have been sitting in a pot like that for a long time, not assembled to order. And so, even though we enjoyed our meal, my wife and I both paid for it the following day with an hour, respectively, on the porcelain throne, to use a delicate euphemism. The lesson was learned, sadly, to only order creamy seafood dishes in a busy restaurant with a lot of turnover!

Third visit, bar fine for drinks and apps, the restaurant is another story.Last visit was on Saturday night, called looking for reservations and told they didn't take them.Got there with a party of 4 a little after 7 ,told there was a 20 minute wait.Seeing that half the tables in the place were empty figured something wasn't,t right..Hour later our table was ready.Seeing other patrons, including those who arrived after us eating the special...prime rib,we ordered the same and were told they were out of it(last visit a year ago we placed our order and received it a hour later because a group of 15 who sat and ordered after us were served first).Anyhow I am convinced the service staff and restaurant management at this place of business are clueless.....we ordered ribeye by the way because the waiter recommended it...it was Terrible.

Terrible service, ran out of water glasses and wine glasses. Wait staff over worked and under staffed.

The service was extremely slow, the restaurant wasn't that busy, and we were told by our server that several servers had been cut. One person in my party ordered a vodka tonic and was brought a vodka soda, when the waitress came over she was told it didn't taste right, she brought a second one back and again instead of it being a vodka tonic it was a vodka soda. After the second attempt at the drink my dinner mate decided against an alcoholic beverage and asked for a diet coke (which arrived 5 minutes later!) Two members of my party ordered appetizers they came out in about 15-20 minutes, and our meals came out about 3 minutes later. I ordered a cheeseburger medium well, it came out medium rare. I sent it back and when it came back out the second time it was only medium. I was not given a new bun (the old one was soggy from the first attempt.) The server said she would send the manager over, but he never came over to speak with us so that we may addres our concerns. He did however take the burger off. We did not realize that an 18% gratuity was added into the bill and the server did not mention it, had we not asked to see the adjusted bill we would have ended up giving her an additional tip that she didn't deserve. All in all this experience was horrible!

Interior is set up a little like a PO' folks or Cracker Barrel. Very open family dining. Very little private dining. Placed order and watched multiple parties come and go before we had to bring it to our waiter's attention. After a visit to kitchen, he revealed that our order was lost. 5-10 mins later, our food was brought out. Some of it good, some of it cold. One of the fillets was ordered medium, but served rare. Shrimp/lobster was hot and good. Chicken Marsala was cold, heavily breaded. Waiter acknowledged "kitchen screw up" and said the A-team was off tonight. Ended up giving us $50 off the bill. Cocktails and conversation were good! For a good meal, seek elsewhere.

Though somewhat hidden for a restaurant just off of the freeway, if you have a working nose you will find this place. the intoxicating scent of burning oak dominates the air for quite a ways around this wonderfully staffed establishment. The rib-eye is a must, as well as the sashimi if you are so inclined. the bartenders are knowledgeable as well as witty and eager to please. By far one of the best dirty martinis ive ever been served in a restaurant bar, or any bar for that matter (blue cheese stuffed olives made by hand daily, a VERY nice touch) a bit pricey, but definetley worth every penny. an amazing franchise steakhouse!!!

TERRIBLE! We arrived at 8:00 to find a basically empty restaurant. The waiter came up and we ordered drinks to have them come out right on time. My family ordered the spinach cheese dip, beef nachos, 2 Cobb salads, one lettuce wedge, and a cheeseburger. Now, we waited thirty minutes and saw basically no one walking around and the waiter was no where in sight. The nachos came up with the beef undercooked and the spinach cheese dip was the most repulsive thing that I have ever laid my mouth on. don't get it! we waited 2 more hours to find that our salads were sitting on the counter. The waiter came over and said that it should be over in just a sec and we told him that they were on the counter about 20 minutes. My Cobb salad got me sick and my family laughed when they realized my sister's burger was hot (meaning they had originally forgotten to cook it. Overall, after waiting nearly 3 hours, it was horrible. let's refrain that. After hearing great local reviews we fell for this place, but if I were you I'd stay away.
